Principal

Rabbi Aharon Wilk is the Principal of Maimonides Academy.  He joined the school in 2008 from Miami Beach, Florida where he served as an administrator in the local Jewish day school. Rabbi Wilk holds Rabbinical Ordination as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Administration.

Rabbi Wilk is focused on strengthening a school community where teachers and staff believe that in the appropriate environment, each student will find individual success.  Our Principal remains committed to the process of education and is consistently developing new strategies and programs that are aligned with the most updates educational research. Rabbi Wilk is an advocate of student learning and works closely with his administration to insure that our teachers receive the necessary support in order to most effectively meet their students’ needs.

Effective school leadership involves creating a system which emphasizes teamwork amongst all school personnel. It is within this context that our Principal’s transformative approach to collaboration has greatly enhanced our schools culture and climate.

Rabbi Wilk emphasizes the importance of building relationships and is a strong proponent of good communication between administrators, teachers, parents and students.

Under his leadership and vision the school is flourishing with a renewed freshness and spirit.


Rabbi David Mahler, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal

This is Rabbi Mahler's first year at Maimonides.  He comes to Los Angeles after being the Director of Student Activities at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, NJ and the Assistant Principal at the Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck, NY.

Rabbi Mahler is a graduate of Yeshiva University where he earned his Master's in Education, Semicha and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Azrieli Graduate School.

Rabbi Mahler is married to Dr. Gabrielle Mahler and is the proud abba of Ariel, Michal and Kobi.
