The Academy has a “state of the art” Computer lab equipped with the latest software and hardware for maximum performance. In addition to strengthening the students computer skills, the Computer Instructor also utilizes specific educational software to reinforce what they are learning in their other courses. For example, students in Pre-1 learn the basic mouse skills while using the award winning “Sammy’s Science House," an application which focuses on sequencing skills. First grade uses a program called “Print artist” where they type in their spelling words and insert the corresponding graphics.

As the students become more proficient in utilizing computers, the projects become increasingly more imaginative. Students in 6th grade, for example, have an assignment to create a “unique culture.” They design a flag, draft a constitution and create a menu of foods indigenous to their culture, using such programs as Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. These kinds of projects help stretch a child imagination and computer proficiency.
